In the run up to ITU Telecom World 2009, Mr Houlin Zhao, ITU Deputy Secretary-General and acting Executive Manager of ITU Telecom, will be speaking at the
Chinese exhibitors and Forum speakers will play a key role at this year’s ITU Telecom World event taking place in Geneva from 5-9 October 2009. With a range of high-level participants from China’s telecommunications industry - including China Mobile, China Unicom, DaTang Telecom Technology and Industry Group, Ernst & Young, Fiberhome International Technologies, Huawei Technologies, TDIA and ZTE Corporation – the event will provide a platform on which key issues of importance to China’s ICT sector can be discussed.to share their views on key issues around the role and positioning of the ICT sector for development and global recovery. Interactive discussion sessions at ITU Telecom World in which China is participating include:World Congress on ICT for Development (WCID'09) in Beijing, reinforcing his commitment to ICT development in China and around the world. "We have come a long way in the journey towards a connected world," commented Mr Zhao. "And many nations like China are helping to push the bounderies of what we know in telecommunications. But there is growth potential beyond existing, maturing and emerging telecom markets. If we continue to focus on working together to develop relevant products and services that meet the combined needs of citizens globally, societies and economies will reap the rewards."
The China SME Pavilion will also provide an opportunity for pavilion exhibitors to showcase China’s ICT expertise. Pavilion participants include China National Postal and Telecommunications Appliances Corporation (PTCA), DADI Telecom, Hutchison Optel Telecom Technology Co., (H-OPTEL), and Shandong Senter. The China SME Pavilion will be located in Hall 4 (Stand 4271).
